Life after returning home from Gulf countries is not easy for many migrant domestic workers. Often they face a lot of stigma and financial precarity.

Mary migrated to the UAE as a domestic worker. She had been unable to find work in Kenya after completing her studies. For two years she was overworked and mistreated by her employers until she completed her contract and returned to Kenya. Mary was supported by Send Us Home Kenya to start a kiosk business supplying eggs, bread and milk. Mary's hope is to expand her business further and establish a retail shop. SUHK continues to support Mary.
